Music Explosion Day!
We had an amazing time on Saturday 19 September 2026, celebrating music making in our community. We played live music, ran workshops, offered the chance to browse our market place and much more. Our Soul Collective raised the rafters, the Ensemble played some of its new repertoire while the Children and Young People’s Group shared their joy of playing together.
We heard from Gary Walker, local bassoonist, who shared the skills needed to play this extraordinary instrument. Alistair Parnell, highly experienced performer and teacher, demonstrated the versatility of the electronic wind instrument. The Lady Bay Community Choir shared the joy of community singing.
Thank you to everyone who contributed in so many different ways to make the day such a success – from baking cakes, pledging raffle prizes, taking photographs, demonstrating instruments and performing, to moving tables, taking on barista duties in the kitchen, and sweeping the floor!
The money raised on the day will go towards supporting the work of the CIC including the Children and Young People’s group.
What a fantastic day! It was great to see so many new faces, to have so many interesting conversations about what we are doing at Lady Bay Music, and to have such great support from everyone involved.
